Gangotri – Gangotri Dham is situated at a height of 3200 meters from the banks of river Bhagirathi, the main focus place of Gangotri Dham is Gomukh which is the source of the holy river. It is said that the Ganga river of Bhagirath prayed for a long time and the rock on which King Bhagirath did penance was situated near the Ganga temple in Gangotri. There is a beautiful temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga in this area. It is believed that the holy river Ganga is the source of purity. That is why pilgrims take baths in this river before entering the temple.
Kedarnath – Shree Kedarnath Dham is also a famous religious place for all the Hindus because it is the place of worship of Lord Bhole Nath. The places Tunganath, Kedarnath, Madmaheshwar, Kalpeshwar, and Rudranath together are known as Panch Kedar. Adi Shankaracharya rebuilt the temple. This temple was named Kedar after the ruler of Satyayug. This place is open from the end of April till Kartik Purnima.
Badrinath – Its importance can be believed from the fact that it is considered to be the most sacred and famous place among the other four holy places. It is situated at a height of 3000 meters above sea level and on the left bank of Alaknanda river, here the temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This temple is also known by the name of Vishal Badri and it is also one of the 4 biggest Chardhams of India.

Every year pilgrims gather from different cities for Chardham Yatra. Pilgrims should always keep in mind the best time to visit these sites before setting out on a trip. The perfect times & Sessions to go to these places are during the months from May to October but during the monsoon season, you should not visit these places. there is heavy snowfall in the winter season, all these areas get blocked due to landslides during monsoon.
